Wikileaks and Australia
I wonder how much pressure has been brought to bear on Julia Gillard for her to call the Wikileaks boss a criminal? He has not broken any law of Australia, not in any way, shape or form. Get real Julia, apologise to the man. He is an Australian citizen and is entitled to whatever protection the Australian Govt can give.
The US of America is really embarrassed by the latest lot of leaks, but that is only the thin edge of the wedge. The other, really important , stuff, which has not been released is what frightens those Americans. It frightens me too. The worlds largest economy is hovering on the brink of collapse now and something new and nasty could bring the whole box and dice crashing to the dround.
That would not bother me at all, if the perpetrators could receive just punishment for their actions. But, that won’t happen. The American people, plus a great many more round the world, will pay through the nose and the perpetrators will probably get off with a gentle slap on the wrist.
I wonder if it would not be better for the whole world if those really bad documents were kept as blackmail material to get decent reforms through whatever parliaments they need to get through.
Sadly we live in a world of corruption and greed. The wealth of the world in being gathered by an ever diminishing number of people, and more and more are being kept on the poverty line.
Julia, as our esteemed Prime Minister, you could set an example of fairness by offering an official apology and Govt support for the Wikileaks man.
How about it? He is an Australian citizen, he has committed no crime and you cannot be judge and jury just because the Americans are upset and embarrassed by the actions of their own people.

Australian Take
Julia Gillard PM, with hasty and unwise statements in unqualified support of the US, has denied this Australian citizen of his right to his country's protection.
On a personal note, having read most of the leaks so far, I would like to state that these are just the 'calm before the storm' and the real leaks will come soon. The ones we really need to read and know about, like this one:
Who really caused the GFC?
