Voting 2010
Saturday is the day of reckoning for all political candidates. It’s the day you decide who will be YOUR representative in our National Government.
Take your responsibilities seriously because you can make a difference.
But always remember you are not voting for Our Julia or Take-Away-Tony, you are voting for a representative from your electorate to be your voice in Parliament.
Please vote for the candidate from your electorate who you believe will do the best job for YOU and YOUR COMMUNITY.
Most of the promotional political propaganda is centred on either Mz Julia Gillard or Mr Tony Abbot. One against the other. Don’t let yourself be caught up in the HOO HAA of the campaign. You vote for the person of your choice, the one who you believe in.
In my electorate there are five candidates: Country Party, Greens, Country Labour, two independents and .
I shall put the numbers 1 – 5 in my order of preference and I’ll do it carefully so I don’t put in an invalid vote.
I shall do the same for the senate even if it takes an hour. The preferential voting was brought in to give the voters a way of choosing who gets in, not the Parties.
Make your vote count.
You can only vote for the representative from your electorate, not Julia or Tony, (Unless you happen to be in their electorate), for the House of Representatives; that is where policy is turned into law.
Bye now.
