The Pot & The kettle

It’s amazing how short are the memories of our duly elected politicians. In particular the Major Party members. The coalition is screaming FOUL at the labour for not releasing their business plan for the National Broadband Network. But it’s not that long ago that the coalition carried out major major spending of taxpayers money without so much as a by-your-leave to anyone at all.
The selling of Telstra for a return which was about $50 billion less than the company’s real value. Then there was the subsidy paid to Health Insurance Companies. How would you like to run a business where ONE THIRD of the running costs were guaranteed by the GOVT. Not a bad start for a business. No wonder those Health Insurance outfits sprung up like weeds all over the place.
In recent times there has been over $100 billion of privatisation done by State and federal Govts in Australia without the faintest suggestion of cost/benefit analysis.
Then there is the compulsory Superannuation scheme, and what a scheme that is, You will note that no one in Govt or employed by Govt is forced to use the Private Sector for Super funds. The Pollies and their minions have a better scheme going where THEIR super is guaranteed. Another example of greedy Govts.
The foregoing is just a sample of the huge wastage of Taxpayers money that is foisted upon the citizens of Australia by their very own elected representatives. Certainly we should have a cost/benefit analysis on the NBN, but don’t you think MR ABBOT your continued criticism of the labour Govt is merely the POT calling the KETTLE black????
