The Campaign Trail
July 29th 2010 04:03
This is an amazing election campaign. Both of the major players are promising the same things in different ways, both are adding more taxes to fatten the federal wallet, both are claiming their Party is the best for Australia’s future. But there is one difference, the coalition does not have a rat in their ranks.
I wonder who the rat is. Could it be someone with an axe to grind with our Julia? Who would possibly want to extract revenge so much that they would risk giving Tony the top Job? I don’t know because there is no evidence at all, and only the aged Laurie Oakes has access to the secretive rat. Strange, isn’t it, that no one is investigating Mr Oakes source of information, and no one is demanding that his insinuations be substantiated with some real evidence.
I am not in favour of the labour party, nor the liberal/national coalition, nor the greenies. You might say I am a swinging voter. I swing towards the person who I believe can do what is best for me firstly, then for my country. Yes, I am selfish, but when you think about it all, I am one of many thousands of ordinary people, and I wonder how many of them feel as I do.
The politicians financial situation is well catered for and no one can criticise me for wanting my finances to be just as well catered for. That’s fair - isn’t it?
I wonder who will form the next Government after August 21st, and who will be there to choose from to form the Cabinet. Polling Day can’t come soon enough, then perhaps we can get something on the radio which is NOT political.
