That Cat
August 15th 2009 01:11
I woke up this morning with
That cat upon my chest,
He fixed his orange eyes on me
And purred his very best..
He said to me, it's daylight,
There are morning jobs for you.
Like let the chooks and ducks out
You know, you always do.
I know it's cold and frosty
So early in the day,
So put the kettle on to boil
as you pass that way.
I thought a bit, then moved.
It was right, what he said.
But as soon as I vacated it
He curled up in my bed.
Out in the cold cold kitchen
I first put the heater on
Then put water in the kettle
Those chooks were waiting patiently
Just inside the door
Being careful not to step
In the mouse holes in the floor
With crackling frosty footsteps
I run straight back inside
And over where the heater is
From the cold I hide
I make some toast for breakfast
With Coffee black and flat
And wonder If there is some one
Who would like to own, That Cat.
