Our esteemed Premier has hurriedly sold OUR electricity retailers. Very hurriedly in fact. WHY?
The State Treasurer tells us New South Welshmen we are now better off by $X billion dollars. But, Mr Treasurer, we owned the damn things anyway, so how can we be better off for the selling of our profit making utilities? Oh Yeah ! I forgot, you are politicians and you have sold OUR property for much less than it’s real value to try to save face with the worlds money lenders. Would that be right?
I would like to know how the sale of the retail sector of the electricity supply in NSW is of any benefit to anyone except the purchasers of that sector. We are still going to generate the electricity through Govt owned and operated Power Stations, and bear the cost; we are still going to provide the grid to supply the power to the end users, and the costs. Why then sell the only profit making sector of the whole box and dice for a paltry sum of some $5 billion dollars? The retail sector will make that in profits in a very short time.
Or is there a more sinister reason for selling the people’s assets so cheaply? I do not know, but I am very suspicious that we, the citizens of NSW, are being ripped off by our politicians yet again. Is there no end to it? This continual stripping of people owned assets frightens me. I think it may be the thin edge of the wedge where foreigners are taking control of our Governments, our States and eventually, our Country, for their own benefit.
Who are they? Who are these mysterious faceless ones who are sneaking in and controlling what should be our representatives in our Governments? I know why they are doing it - - - two reasons - - - money and power. I am, as yet, not sure who.
However, our bit of dirt, called Australia, was here before they came, and it will still be here long after they have gone. Mother Nature will see to that. My concern is that we are being impoverished to enrich another country, and I don’t like that.
Choose your political candidates carefully for the next state election, and do not accept any candidate you do not know. Remember that 20 Labour party politicians are leaving politics and will not stand as candidates at the next election in March. Are they rats leaving a sinking ship or have they made their fortunes as politicians and are retiring to start spending their ill gotten gains??
Someone said that Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and politics is absolutely corrupt.
Are they right??
