Election -Hung out to Dry.

Well, the voters have spoken. Loudly too. Take Away Tony looks to have the slightly larger part of the House Of Assembly and may well be asked to form a Government. However, in the present climate on the political scene he may not be able to Govern. He will have to make deals with the independents who hold the balance of power.
What of your great promises now Tony?
What will you sacrifice, and who, to become Prime Minister?
How many of your loudly proclaimed policies will be thrown out ?
How many of our ‘Julia’s’ policies will you have to support to even have a shot at being Prime Minister?
The mind boggles when one tries to think of the options which now present themselves.
And what of our Julia? She is not done yet and no doubt the power plays behind the scenes will be many and varied.
Will Julia get to those independents?
Will the Greenies support her in the Senate and squash Tony before he gets started?
OH dear, we in Australia have a lot to look forward to in the next week or so. Maybe even another election. Now wouldn’t that be something. As things are at the moment I cannot see either of the two major parties having sufficient power and strength to Govern this Wide Brown Land.
There is one thing that has come out of this election which I like – the people have used their democratic power more than ever before. I think that our system of electing our Govt is way out of date and should be put in for major repairs and renovations – not someday – but NOW.
