Complaining Convoy
Well, here we are on Monday the 26th Day of August 2011, and what have we got in our halls of power to give us hope? - - - - - - - - - - - - I thought so; nothing. We have elected 150 representatives to take care of our country for the three year term of Government. What have we got?
We have a minority Government. Labour and Greens, plus a couple of Independents are trying to instill their wishes on the country. The big problem is that the elected members are not in control, the big business enterprises are. The so called ’Power Brokers’ have taken away the rights which Democracy insists belong to the elected members. Only the favoured few elected members have any say at all, the majority are silenced.
The Opposition Coalition is in the same situation with their power brokers dictating what is said and by whom. The leader is referred to as ‘take-away-Tony’ in some circles because, although he was one of the 150 elected members his position as Leader of the opposition means he simply ‘opposes’ everything put up by the labour Govt. He wants to ‘take away’ most of what the Govt is proposing to put into law. Stop the boats – Stop the taxes and such pieces of magnificent oratory do not convince me that the coalition would be any better than our current lot.
Should we come to another election sometime soon, we, the voting public will be faced with a weird decision to make: Who will we vote for? A bungling indecisive labour which, I think, is controlled by non-elected outsiders, The tree hugging Greens who have no idea which way to turn, ‘take-away-Tony’ with the no policy Coalition, or could we possibly find enough independents to make a real Government.
The complaining convoy in Canberra today simply want another election, but I wonder what they would have to say if they got one they could not cope with.
Having said all that, I still have no proof that carbon is the cause of the theoretical global warming and the much promoted scientific theory of climate change. Note ‘Theory’. Until it is proved one way or another, it is still a ‘theory’. I don’t doubt the climate will change, but I do have grave doubts that creating another avenue for the worlds wealthy ‘investors’ to make more money will have any effect on it.
