It’s amazing how short are the memories of our duly elected politicians. In particular the Major Party members. The coalition is screaming FOUL at the labour for not releasing their business plan for the National Broadband Network. But it’s not that long ago that the coalition carried out major major spending of taxpayers money without so much as a by-your-leave to anyone at all.
The selling of Telstra for a return which was about $50 billion less than the company’s real value. Then there was the subsidy paid to Health Insurance Companies. How would you like to run a business where ONE THIRD of the running costs were guaranteed by the GOVT. Not a bad start for a business. No wonder those Health Insurance outfits sprung up like weeds all over the place

NSW Electricity

The current NSW Labour Govt is rushing to sell off the electricity generated by the power stations owned by the people of NSW. Yes, that’s right Madame Premier, OWNED BY THE PEOPLE OF NSW.
Why the rush ? Also why are so many Labour members not contesting the March election? Is it a case of the rats leaving the sinking ship? Or is it much more sinister than that

More to MDBA

With a lot of meetings over and done with the MDBA has apparently accepted the fact that the Social and Economic effects of reducing the amount of irrigation water that is available to irrigation farmers has to be considered. But are they going to do the correct thing for the basin altogether, or will there be selected groups who get a ‘Special’ deal?
So far I have not heard of any work being done in the area of research for alternative crops which could be grown in the event that there is no water. Why not ? Our Wide Brown Land is prone to drought and in such an event there is no water for irrigation or the environment. What happens then to all those communities who depend on income from irrigation farmers to keep their community alive and well
