More leaks?

July 31st 2010 01:20

It would appear that the rat undermining our Julia has a well crafted plan. Make just enough unsubatantiated information public knowledge to embarrass Our Julia. The rat does his gnawing so well. Julia cannot answer the accusations effectively because of the confidentiality of the cabinet protocol. Poor lady is between a rock and a hard place with nowhere to go. I do hope the electors see this ‘Rat’ for what he is. I get the feeling that a power group wants to try to take charge of our Government and Julia is seen as an obstacle in their way. I wonder am I near the mark?
Politics is a dirty business at the best of times and many political figures have their path to the top paved with the bodies of those they stepped on as they climbed to the top. So far I think our Julia is relatively free of blood on her hands but she may be forced to lay a few in the aisles to defend herself

The Campaign Trail

July 29th 2010 04:03

This is an amazing election campaign. Both of the major players are promising the same things in different ways, both are adding more taxes to fatten the federal wallet, both are claiming their Party is the best for Australia’s future. But there is one difference, the coalition does not have a rat in their ranks.
I wonder who the rat is. Could it be someone with an axe to grind with our Julia? Who would possibly want to extract revenge so much that they would risk giving Tony the top Job? I don’t know because there is no evidence at all, and only the aged Laurie Oakes has access to the secretive rat. Strange, isn’t it, that no one is investigating Mr Oakes source of information, and no one is demanding that his insinuations be substantiated with some real evidence

Election 2010 - Australia

July 28th 2010 01:47

Three weeks left to listen to the budding politicians, and the real ones, extend to us voters what they consider is the right bait to persuade us to vote for them. I think this election is a ‘Claytons ‘ election, you know, the election you have when you are not having an election.
The usual dirty mud sling tricks coming from ‘informed sources’, the promises made to fix problems which have never ever been fixed, (and never will be fixed) if we are elected to Government. So it goes on and on. Fortunately we shall only suffer political campaigning for five weeks, and that is four weeks too long

Health Insurance

July 20th 2010 01:24

Do you have health insurance? No? Neither do I. But being a pensioner I can’t really afford to pay $500.00 per year to get what I get now for free. Sound strange? I suppose it does but have a close look at health insurance companies, the hundreds of them.
All health Insurance Companies get a 30% subsidy from the Commonwealth Government

VOTING ? For Whom?

July 12th 2010 07:39

Voting in an election. How will you vote? For the party, or for the person you perceive will represent you reasonably well if elected to Parliament. I know voting is compulsory so you will vote for someone if you are over 18 years old; but how will you choose from the candidates available in your electorate?
A> The Party vote

Pensions- Peoples and Pollies

July 6th 2010 02:50

Justice is blind, so they keep telling me; and I believe it.
I am an old age pensioner and to continue getting just enough money to keep me very close to the poverty line I must obey the rules, and I am even allowed to earn the princely sum of about $60.00 a week to supplement my pension; without losing some of it. Any amount above that $60.00 and my Govt allowance is reduced
